Investment Overview:

We founded Altalurra as impact-driven optimists who see technology as a force for good. We believe that impact investing in digital and manufacturing technologies offers unique opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs to score higher returns while pursuing purpose and growth. Our objectives are to partner early with inspiring founders across underserved areas accounting for over half of global emissions and to foster a change of behaviors. Combining innovative technologies and sustainable business models, selected startups will rapidly generate a positive impact on the world's journey to net zero. Altalurra will help them grow by leveraging a transparent and data-driven impact measurement framework that enables joint optimization of their mission and financial objectives, bringing impact as a top-line driver. These startups will benefit from a valuation premium as suppliers and targets of choice within their ecosystem, as much as from positive consumer sentiment and regulatory tailwinds.

Company Differentiator:

Altalurra brings quantitative and strategic skills to impact investing in underserved sectors. We combine operational growth and technology expertise with proficiency in ESG and impact measurement, and practical experience in strategic deal making. Fast learners with an expert network we create instant attraction from founders contributing to their vision, acting as partners beyond investors, providing guidance and mentorship in day-to-day activities. We grew ourselves as entrepreneurs, which enables us to understand issues and to pass on solutions for accelerating the path to success. We know ESG data and methodology providers and investors, and how companies struggle to implement. We understand pitfalls and consider impact as an expansion from risk to return management which private startups can capitalize on beyond pursuing positive impacts. Through partnerships with 3rd party providers, and the co-development of the Altalurra Impact Framework, we bring practical solutions to founders for managing purpose and growth in concert.

Investment Example

Altalurra Ventures is warehousing investments, and this is a real-life example. Company is operating in stealth mode, managed by a seasoned serial entrepreneur and a domain specialist. It owns patents and has developed a fast, low-cost and highly resource efficient process for recycling carbon fiber waste into new carbon fiber fully preserving fiber properties. It leverages a circular economy approach for sourcing. It brings a highly demanded recycled material to industries with zero friction (same form as original fiber product). By bringing a low carbon footprint and high recycling features it provides an answer to current regulatory constraints faced by clients which will enable them to expand usage, creating a snowball effects (e.g. in transportation due to low weight properties of the material further diminishing energy consumption of end products).
